Colombo Declaration
The Colombo Declaration , adopted at the Medicina World Congress in Colombo in November 2025, held at BMICH, initiated by its Chairman, Prof. Dr. Sir Lakshman Madurasinghe, signifies our commitment – as practitioners, doctors, scientists, Knights of EMH Order Knights of St John of Jerusalem, researchers, teachers, policymakers, and knowledge keepers – to turn the WHO Strategy into reality on the ground, starting right here in Sri Lanka and spreading across continents. Just as Alma-Ata gave the world “Primary Health Care” in 1978, Colombo 2025 will give the world The Declaration “Integrative Health for All”. . This is our generation’s Alma-Ata moment for traditional, complementary and integrative medicine.
